I have a kennel since 2007, which means quite a short time.

I chose Shetland sheepdogs for their beauty, activity and adaptability. Even though this kind of dog is difficult to breed, I think it wll remain my favourite and that there will always be a Sheltie sleeping next to my bed.

My second choice was chodsky dog. This is a Czech national breed and is not recognised internationaly. I wanted a bigger dog that would arouse respect so that I would feel better when I'm home alone. My daughter also wanted to do agility with the dog. At first, I thought a male would be better, in the end we have a female again.

My pets are all rightful members of our family. They are provided with high quality food, proper health care and lots of love.

When breeding puppies, I focus not only on good appearance, but mainly on their health and stable temperament. Of course it isn't always perfect, but not even us humans are all pretty, good, hard-working, healthy and free of predispositions for inherited diseases. We cannot expect this from our pets.

How did it begin?

My first Shetland sheepdog is Recese z Dablovy Studanky, but we call her simply Rendy.

Originally, I wanted a dog for agility so that I would lose some weight because not eating is a torture. On the other hand, losing weight by entertaining movement, meeting lots of other people crazy about dogs, is great. I tried agility some six years ago with an Irish terrier. Kelly was not as happy about exercising as I was, so we soon stopped. Thouhts about buying another dog for our family did not leave me, so I kept looking for our future puppy on the internet. I was tempted by Border Collie, but as I was learning more and more about them, I became sure I would not be able to give her all she needed. I liked Shelties and their temperament too, and I even knew one owner in person. He praised Shelties a lot. When I found out there is a black&white variety, I was decided. I contacted Mrs. Svobodova and waited for a male offspring of Carmen Merydor. On January, only one dog was born, and he was blue and white. So I waited for the next litter, of Josephine z Dablovy Studanky, and again, only one dog was born, and he was reserved for someone else. Deciding whether to wait for another male or take a female was not very long, so after 8 weeks we were taking her home. A little black ball, which soon got us to love her and broke many taboos related to our older terrier.

Rendy is now grown up and I haven't lost a single kilo. I somehow failed in that. But I decided to breed Shelties and bought another bitch. And maybe, when I will do agility with the two of them, I will finally lose some weight :-))
